About Morgan

Morgan Eugenio, LCSW
She/Her/Hers

I received my master’s degree in clinical social work from Columbia University and my bachelor’s degree in psychology and leadership from the University of Richmond. During graduate school, I interned at New York Presbyterian’s adult partial hospitalization program, where I led CBT and DBT groups and provided individual counseling.

Since graduating in 2019, I have worked in private practices in New York City serving teenagers, adults, and parents seeking support for anxiety, OCD, emotion dysregulation, trauma, and related challenges. I am currently licensed in New York, California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.

Early in my career, I worked at a practice specializing in OCD and anxiety-related disorders, where I received extensive training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Habit Reversal Training (HRT) for body-focused repetitive behaviors, and several trauma-focused treatments, including Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy. I am also a member of the International OCD Foundation.

Later, I transitioned to a practice specializing in comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), where I led DBT skills groups for parents and teens, provided individual therapy, and further developed my work in suicide prevention and crisis management. During this time, I completed intensive DBT training under Charlie Swenson, one of the pioneers of DBT. I have also received training in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), a parent-based treatment developed at the Yale Child Study Center that helps caregivers respond more effectively to childhood anxiety and OCD.

While my work is grounded in evidence-based treatments, therapy is never “one size fits all.” I strive to help clients better understand the patterns that keep them stuck while supporting them in building a more meaningful, connected, and value-driven life.

If some of the treatment names above feel unfamiliar, that is completely okay — you do not need to know the terminology to begin therapy. My role is to guide you through the process and help you understand what approaches may be most helpful for your specific goals and challenges.

A little more about me outside of therapy: I have lived on both coasts, including San Francisco and New York, though I currently live in Philadelphia. I enjoy hiking, reading, running, spending time with friends, and trying new restaurants. I genuinely love the work I do and continue to attend trainings and deepen my own personal growth so I can show up more fully for my clients. My experiences both inside and outside the therapy room have strengthened my belief in people’s capacity for change and growth.

While working at my first group practice, I received extensive training in empirically supported therapies including Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Habit Reversal Therapy for BFRBs (HRT), and several interventions for trauma (STAIR-NST, Prolonged Exposure, and Cognitive Processing Therapy). I am also a member of the International OCD Foundation.

Later in my career, I transitioned to working at a private practice that offered comprehensive Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). While there, I led a DBT skills group with parents and their teens and provided individual counseling. I also honed my skills in suicide prevention and crisis management. During this time, I completed my DBT-intensive training under Charlie Swenson, one of the pioneers of DBT, and learned Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) treatment for trauma.

Do not worry if you are unfamiliar with any of the treatments listed above. I will provide you with all the information you need once we get started. If you would like a high-level explanation of the treatments I offer, please visit the treatment approach page.

For a little bit more about me, I have spent time on both coasts. After undergrad, I lived in San Francisco where I spent most of my time outside, hiking, skiing, and climbing mountains. In New York City you can find me reading, running, spending time with friends, or trying new restaurants. I truly love what I do and also spend a good amount of time attending trainings and reading books to enhance my self-work and my work with clients. I practice what I preach and, as a result, firmly believe in the human capacity for growth.
